CEMEDE (Euro Mediterranean Center for Sustainable Development) was created on the occasion of the Tenth Anniversary of the Barcelona Process;

 

CEMEDE members felt it necessary to answer the call of the European Commission to strengthen neighboring ties between EU Member Sates and other Mediterranean countries covered by MEDA (Middle East Development Association).

CEMEDE aims to participate in:

  • Euro Mediterranean exchanges and cooperation.

  • Development assistance, in particular, infrastructure development assistance, to Mediterranean and Near Eastern countries.

  • Promoting and representing micro, small and medium size businesses.

  • Promoting sustainable development and urban planning.

  • Environment protection and improvement

  • Human resources development

  • Institutional development, organization of conferences, seminars and training workshops, and research.

  • Tenders from the UE and other Euro Mediterranean Sates.

  • Strengthening relationships and dialogue between EU authorities and public authorities in Euro Mediterranean countries.
